Featuring the beautiful, haunting voice of Francesca Gagnon’s, composer René Dupéré masterfully evokes the passionate and intense sounds of traveling minstrels through acoustic and percussion instruments, including the accordion, saxophone, keyboard and guitar.
This soundtrack has gone platinum twice in Canada and was on Billboard magazine’s chart for 55 weeks in the World Music category. The title track, Alegría, was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1996 for Best Instrumental Arrangement with Accompanying Vocals.
